Galway is celebrated in story and song the world over and is the pride of Ireland’s western seaboard. This lively and handsome city offers a wonderful avant-garde culture and an unparalleled selection of speciality shops, often featuring locally made crafts. Though compact enough to stroll around at a leisurely pace, Galway packs a lot of holiday into its fascinating winding streets that are full to the brim with small theatres, music venues and hidden treasures.

    Excursion 1
Galway
Our day begins with a fascinating visit to the Connemara Marble Centre. There we learn how master craftsmen fashion this ancient mineral into beautiful jewellery sporting traditional Irish symbols such as the shamrock, harp and Claddagh ring. After a familiarisation tour of Galway, including a chance to marvel at breathtaking Galway Bay, the afternoon is yours to relax and explore the city at your own pace.

    Excursion 2
Kylemore Abbey & Westport
Today we travel north through Connemara National Park to Kylemore Abbey, with its splendid walled gardens, before continuing to Westport. This lively town boasts a Georgian centre with a truly traditional feel. You can choose to look around Westport House where you can trace the heritage of the area or simply browse the quaint avenues.

    Excursion 3
The Aran Islands & The Burren
Today combines two of Ireland’s most memorable attractions. We visit the rugged landscape of The Burren with its rolling hills and towering cliffs of limestone. On the comfortable vessel the MV Tranquility (ticket included) we cross from the port of Doolin to visit the Aran Islands. One of the last places where Gaelic is still the language of everyday life, these stunningly beautiful and famously friendly islands take us back to the Ireland of a bygone age.
